From innovators in technology and business to changemakers in the arts, entrepreneurship, healthcare, and beyond, recipients of this award are making meaningful contributions in their professions and communities while creating lasting impact. They represent the next generation of FIU leaders.

A Distinctive Recognition

Presented annually with the support of our alumni and FIU community, the award recognizes alumni whose professional accomplishments, service, and leadership exemplify FIU’s core values of Truth, Freedom, Respect, Responsibility, and Excellence. Their stories are a reflection of what is possible when talent, determination, and opportunity come together.

We are grateful to everyone who submitted a nomination and helped recognize the accomplishments, leadership, and service of our young alumni.   • Who qualifies for the "5 Under 35" award?

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • Must be a graduate of Florida International University
    • Must be 35 years old or younger
    • Demonstrates FIU's core values of Truth, Freedom, Respect, Responsibility and Excellence in their personal and/or professional life
    • Must be willing to submit a professional headshot and bio that can be published by the FIU Alumni Association and other FIU entities
    • Nominations may be made by members of the university community, including faculty, staff, students, fellow alumni, and friends of the university; self-nominations are not accepted
  • What dates will nominations be accepted?

    May 30th through June 23rd

  • When is the recognition ceremony?
    November 12, 2025
