He works on an array of criminal and civil issues within the discipline of military law, and he also provides pre-deployment legal briefings and legal assistance to fellow soldiers.
Thomas attended Florida International University College of Law, where he graduated fifth in his class. He worked the midnight shift as a police officer so he could attend law school during the day. While in law school, Thomas interned for the Broward County Police Benevolent Association, where he represented police officers facing internal investigations. He also completed a judicial internship at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and served as a Certified Legal Intern for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted multiple jury and non-jury trials.
Thomas was involved on campus as a Staff Member of the prestigious FIU Law Review, a research assistant in the areas of Antitrust and Intellectual Property Law, and he obtained the highest grades in multiple classes.
After graduating law school in 2021, Thomas accomplished his lifelong dream of serving his country in the United States Army as an officer and a lawyer. He attended the U.S. Army’s Direct Commission Course in Fort Benning, Georgia, followed by the Judge Advocate Officer Basic Course at The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School in Charlottesville, Virginia. After completing his basic training, Thomas returned to South Florida to continue serving his community as a police officer while also working as an attorney. He lives in Davie, Florida with his fiancé (also an FIU College of Law alumna), and their dog, Charlie.
