Art & Health: Her Body of Art at the Frost Museum

While women have made significant strides in the past decades, the culture at large continues to place great emphasis on how women should look. These unrealistic beauty standards, distributed through the media, have had drastic impact on women, their body image and overall wellness.

In our inaugural lunch series Art & Health: Her Body of Art, in partnership with West Kendall Baptist Hospital, panelists Dr. Samantha Behbahani, Dr. Zulma Berrios, artist Adrienne Rose Gionta and moderator Denise H. Harris, Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer of West Kendall Baptist Hospital and Advisory Board Member of the Frost Art Museum, will discuss how art can help women see their true beauty and live healthier lives.

After the panel discussion, guests will join us for mimosas and a healthy lunch catered by Sergio’s Restaurant, then meet artists Donna Haynes and Leah Brown for a viewing of their group exhibition Suddenly Lats Summer and a tour of In the Beginning was the Word: Works by Corita Kent with Curator Klaudio Rodriguez. In addition, attendees will get an exclusive first look at Resonance/Dissonance, a video art exhibition featuring female artists from the de la Cruz collection.
