Alumni invited to participate in Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

Serving others comes naturally to FIU. It’s in our DNA. It’s who we are.

Founded in 1965 to address the needs and aspirations of South Florida’s then-underserved residents, FIU is recognized today as a top community-engaged institution.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, FIU has embarked on a university-wide year of service that takes our already-demonstrated commitment to the community one step further. We challenge every student, employee and alumnus to participate, whether through individual engagement with local organizations, churches and schools or by coming out for any of the planned group “FIU Days” at area nonprofits.

And we encourage alumni throughout the country and the world to do the same wherever they live.

However you choose to participate, you honor and extend FIU’s 50-year history of making a difference.
