travis-200x300What do you love most about FIU and your involvement here? What I love the most is looking back at the groundbreaking impact through my student involvement. While participating in Cheerleading, Student Government and Dance Marathon to name a few, I had the pleasure of watching the University grow and get better and better, year after year.

What advice would you give to a potential donor who is considering investing in FIU?
When considering to donate to FIU, you are providing access to first generation and other college students who may need additional assistance. If you are donating to a college or an academic program, you are enhancing the ability of our students, faculty and staff to continue their research and providing them with additional resources for their programs.

Why do you think giving back is important to the advancement of FIU and its students? When you give back, you are investing in the future of our FIU and helping us reach toward our goals and initiatives. Giving back allows for the continued growth and development of FIU. By giving to FIU, you are supporting a university that is an integral part of its community. As someone who gives back to my FIU, whether it be time or monetary, I’m proud to help shape and engage the students of today on their path to becoming the leaders of tomorrow.

Why do you feel it is important for alumni and donors to stay engaged/connected with FIU?

It is extremely important that alumni stay connected and engaged. If we do not love our FIU then, who will? We have grown to be a force to be reckoned with in our 50 plus year history. FIU needs our support to continue to provide quality academic access and development for our students. Your contribution is a vital part of the advancement of our FIU.

How did FIU prepare you to get where you are professionally?
FIU provided me with great tools and skills that I otherwise would not have obtained. When participating in the Student Government Association and the FIU Cheerleading Program, I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of FIU leadership, alumni and community partners. The course curriculum within the Public Administration program prepared to take on the world. The professional readiness that FIU provides its students is unmatched and second to none. I am a better professional and employee for having access to the leadership and professional development training and workshops here at FIU.
