Friday Night Lights: 2016 Spring Game Set for April 15

MIAMI (April 4, 2016) — The 2016 FIU Football Spring Game will take place on Friday, April 15, under the lights at Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium. Kickoff for Friday Night Lights is set for 7 p.m., and admission is FREE to the public.

Gates open at 6 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans will receive a 2016 schedule magnet, released to the public for the first time that evening. Giveaways will be available at gates one, four and eight, and concessions will be available for purchase on both the North and South sides of the stadium concourse.

Upon arrival to the stadium, join FIU Athletics, shopFIU, Roary, and additional campus vendors and groups in the West end zone patio, located inside FIU Stadium. The event will feature a meet and greet and autograph signing with the FIU Golden Dazzlers and FIU Cheerleaders, games, giveaways and a fan photo zone featuring official FIU football uniforms and more.

Fans are invited to stick around after the game for an on-field meet and greet with the team, coaches, Roary, the FIU Golden Dazzlers and the FIU Cheerleaders.

Mark your calendars! The 2016 FIU football season will kick off on Thursday, Sept. 1, when the Panthers host the Indiana Hoosiers.

FIU’s 2016 schedule is highlighted with games against Miami Beach Bowl and 2016 C-USA champion WKU, R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl champion Louisiana Tech, St. Petersburg Bowl champion Marshall, Popeyes Bahama Bowl participant Middle Tennessee, and New Era Pinstripe Bowl participant Indiana. In addition, the Panthers will face Maryland, Massachusetts, UCF, Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Charlotte and Old Dominion.
