Diane Ramy Faulconer to be recognized by Florida International University with Distinguished Alumni Award

Diane Faulconer 200x238The Florida International University Alumni Association will be presenting Diane Ramy Faulconer ’74 with a Distinguished Alumni award during FIU’s fourteenth annual Torch Awards Charity Gala on Saturday, March 28, 2015. This award recognizes alumni who have brought honor and distinction to the university through their notable record of service and achievement in a particular discipline, organization or cause.

With over 30 years of nursing experience in management consulting and health care operations, Diane R. Faulconer has shown an incomparable dedication to bettering nursing education and practices. She has traveled extensively throughout a variety of third world countries sharing her expertise in surgical services, operating room management, post anesthesia care, emergency medicine and ambulatory services. Previously, Faulconer filled the roles of director of Surgical Services for Boca Raton Community Hospital, as well as director of Nursing for Operating Rooms and coordinator for Emergency Medicine and Ambulatory Services for Mount Sinai Hospital Center of Greater Miami. She has also published more than 35 articles in six different professional journals. She was a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN), an awardee of the AORN research grant on preoperative priorities and has been listed in Who’s Who in American Nursing. She served as Chairman on both the AORN Membership Committee and the Docent Program at Polk Museum of Art.

This year, the FIU Alumni Association will be hosting the prestigious gala at the luxurious Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel, located on 4441 Collins Avenue in Miami, Fla.
