Gerald Grant Jr. '78, MBA '89

Mr. Gerald C. Grant, Jr. obtained his Bachelors in Business Administration in 1978 and Masters in 1979 from Florida International University. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63, 66 and 24 Securities Registrations and is insurance licensed. Mr. Grant is the Vice President and Branch Director of Corporate and Individual Financial Planning for AXA Advisors. The AXA Advisors, LLC is a subsidiary of AXA Financial, Inc., a member of the global AXA Group. Mr. Grant brought to AXA Advisors over eleven years of banking experience and was previously associated with Citibank, where he held the position of Branch Vice President and Cluster Manager. Prior to Citibank, he was a Branch Manager with Great Western Bank. His experience and knowledge are now used to focus on providing estate planning, wealth accumulation and protection strategies, life insurance, retirement planning, college funding, and other financial services. 

Mr. Grant authored a book entitled, “Bold Moves to Creating Financial Wealth”. He is an active member of the South Florida community, serving on the foundation board of directors for Florida International University, and Florida A & M University. He served on the United Way Resource Management Committee, is a past-president of the Florida International University Alumni Association. He also serves on the advisory board for Florida International University’s Honors College. He is also a past President of National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), Miami- Dade Chapter. Mr. Grant is a member of the Orange Bowl Committee, 100 Black Men of South Florida, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Theta Rho Sigma Chapter. 

Mr. Gerald C. Grant has received numerous accolades for his leadership and services. While at Great Western, he was named “Branch Manager of the Year” for two consecutive years. In 1991, Mr. Grant was named “Banker of the Year” by the Miami-Dade Urban Bankers Association. He is a recipient of the Community Service Award for AXA Advisors’ Miami-Fort Lauderdale Branch. In 2005, AXA Advisors honored Mr. Grant by naming him the “Regional Honor Associate” for the company’s Southern Division, and in 2010 he was selected as the company’s “National Honor Associate”.
