FIU takes on Middle Tennessee in our Homecoming game on Saturday, October 10, at 7 p.m. ET. Leading up to the big showdown, there's a full schedule of alumni and family-friendly virtual events during Homecoming Week at FIU. Stay tuned for announcements on virtual engagement opportunities so you can cheer on our Panthers from home! See everything your alma mater has in store for you below.

Homecoming Week Events

In the days leading up to the big game, come back to your alma mater to enjoy these exciting Panther Pride events open to alumni:

  • Food Drive (Thursday, Oct 1. and Friday, Oct. 2)

    Food Drive
    Time: 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. | Location: Rider Business Loop

    Show your Panther spirit and give back to your alma mater at the all-new Homecoming Food Drive. During this two-day event, we'll be collecting nonperishable food items and toiletries for the FIU Student Food Pantry. The pantry is available to assist all currently enrolled FIU students, who may take up to 10 pounds of food each visit. The locations at MMC and BBC distributed more than 15,000 pounds of food to students in need in the 2018-2019 school year.

    If you can't make it to campus, please consider making a monetary donation to the Student Food Pantry. Details on how to donate will be announced soon.

  • Panthermonium Concert (Sunday, Oct. 4)

    Panthermonium is one of Homecoming's biggest events – and this year, it's FREE for alumni, students, faculty and staff! FIU's annual concert will be completely virtual this year using the online platform Looped, which allows participants to engage more with the artist, bringing you a whole new Panthermonium experience. 

    Want a chance to meet the artist? Donate to the FIUstrong fund in support of fellow Panthers in need as a result of the pandemic. Details on how to donate and enter will be announced soon.

  • Onyx Virtual Networking (Monday, Oct. 5)

    This will be a virtual networking event for current students, and FIU's Black alumni. At this event, Black alumni will share their stories and experiences and students will be given the opportunity to foster connections with alumni who have experience in their areas of interest.

  • "Pave Your Path:" Panthers Influencing Latin America and the Caribbean (Monday, Oct. 5)

    FIU in Washington D.C. invites you to join students, alumni, and friends to celebrate the success of our alumni and the potential of our next generation. Over the last decade, over 600 FIU student interns have launched their careers in our nation's capital, and on October 5, we're recognizing their overall IMPACT! Join FIU D.C. for a special Homecoming Week discussion to learn from some of these career trajectories and to discuss some of the issues of the day. Click here to learn more.

  • Peer Advisor/Panther Camp Alumni Reunion (Tuesday, Oct. 6)

    Calling all Peer Advisor and/or Panther Camp Facilitator Alumni! Join Orientation and Family Programs during Homecoming Week to virtually reconnect and reminisce about great memories with your fellow teammates. You will also learn how alumni can support Orientation and Family Programs. #PAWS #PRIDE

  • Panthers Got Talent (Wednesday, Oct. 7)

    Alumni, students, faculty and staff will come together to showcase their talents at our annual Panthers Got Talent show, a friendly competition among the FIU community. The event will be in-person as well as streamed online for those unable to attend. 

    The in-person event will be in the form of a drive-in theater, where you'll be able to watch the performances from the comfort of your own car. Attendees without cars will sit in an assigned section and are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Social distancing will be observed to ensure a safe environment.   • The Roar Report (Saturday, Oct. 10)

    Time: 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. | Location: Streamed at hc.fiu.edu 

    The Roar Report, a talk show-style broadcast that will feature both live and pre-recorded segments, will serve to remind the FIU community that there is unity in a world full of uncertainty. 

    Some segments include new and thrilling adaptations of our famous FIU Homecoming traditions, such as the crowning of this year's Homecoming Court and Faculty and Staff King and Queen, the Trail of the Torch, and the annual firework show – with a twist. The Roar Report will also feature new, interactive events that include all members of the FIU community, including DIY and cooking segments as well as exclusive interviews with alumni who are making a difference in their communities and at FIU. 

  • Homecoming Caravan (Saturday, Oct. 10)

    Time: 3:30 p.m. | Modesto Maidique Campus

    Do you Rep FIU and bleed Blue & Gold? Show it off with FIU's Homecoming Caravan! The Homecoming Caravan will take place at FIU's annual Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 10, at 3:30 p.m. Alumni, students, faculty, employees, retirees, and the entire FIU community is invited to deck out their cars in Panther pride and drive around campus to celebrate another successful Homecoming week.

    The most Panther-spirited cars will be entered into a social media contest, and the winner will be announced on FIU's Instagram account afterwards.

    Partipicants should arrive no later than 3 p.m. to LOT 9, where the cavaran will kick off at 3:30 p.m. You may add final decorations to your vehicle in Lot 9, which will be available beginning at 2:30 p.m. Please note that only cars or SUVs will be allowed to participate in the caravan. No floats or open platform vehicles are permitted.

  • Homecoming Game (Saturday, Oct. 10)

    Time: 7 p.m. ET on ESPN 3 or ESPN+ | Virtual Engagement Opportunity TBA

    In the first home game of FIU Football's 2020 season, your Panthers will be taking on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on Saturday, October 10 at 7 p.m. While details on in-person attendance are being finalized, you can catch the game on ESPN 3 or ESPN+.
