FIU takes on UNC Charlotte in our Homecoming game on Saturday, October 12, 2019. Leading up to the big showdown, there's a full schedule of alumni- and family-friendly events during Homecoming Week at FIU, capped by an extra-special fan experience on game day! See everything your alma mater has in store for you below.

Roar Lounge

Before kickoff, cool down with the FIU Alumni Association at the return of ROAR LOUNGE, the official alumni pregame party! We'll bring the food, drinks and fun – YOU bring the Panther family and spirit! Everyone is welcome. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for kids, and include a meal ticket, two drink tickets, unlimited soda and water, entertainment and Panther spirit swag. A cash bar will also be available. Homecoming Week Events

In the days leading up to the big game, come back to your alma mater to enjoy these exciting Panther Pride events open to alumni:

  • Panthermonium (Friday, Oct. 4)

    Time: 6:00 p.m. • MMC - Ocean Bank Convocation Center
    Audience: Open to the public (Ticketed Event)

    Arguably the biggest event of the year, FIU’s Panthermonium Homecoming concert will feature internationally acclaimed artists. This event is open to the public with general admission floor seats readily available until the event sells out. 

  • Trail of the Torch (MMC: Tuesday, Oct. 8; BBC: TBA)

    Audience: Open to the public

    Trail of the Torch is FIU's largest on-campus tradition. Join us as four special Torchbearers lead alumni, students and faculty through campus to light the Torch of Knowledge, Service & Opportunity. Hosted by the FIU Student Ambassadors and sponsored by your FIU Alumni Association, Bank of America and the Student Government Association, the event will take place on the MARC Lawn across from Vicky Bakery. Attendees can enjoy food, festival-style snacks tons of giveaways. Be sure to check out our international student organization showcase, live entertainment and a chance drawing in support of our Student Emergency Fund, which helps students in crisis.

  • Panthers Got Talent (Wednesday, Oct. 9)

    Join us for a night full of entertainment & indescribable talent from our very own faculty, staff and students! "International" is our middle name, and we have a diverse lineup of Panthers ready to showcase their abilities on stage for the whole community to witness.

  • The Uncaging: Panthers on the Lawn (Thursday, Oct. 10)

    Last year’s new event has becoming a tradition. Come connect and have fun with your family, friends and fellow alumni at this carnival/festival-style event. Enjoy great food, get energized with cool activities, dance a little with some music and much more. Definitely a night to remember on the lawns. The evening will end with fireworks!

    Your 2019 Homecoming Prince and Princess, as well as Faculty/Staff King and Queen, will be crowned at this event.

  • Craft International Food & Spirits (Friday, Oct. 11)

    Craft International Food & Spirits

    Time: 5 p.m. • MMC - GC Ballrooms
    Audience: Open to students, alumni, faculty/staff and community. Must be 21+ to enter.

    We are excited to invite faculty, staff and alumni on campus to kickoff Homecoming weekend! Sample delicious bites and spirits while helping us raise money for the FIU Ignite Campaign. Registration is required.


  • Office Pantherization Contest (9/30-10/4)

    We're challenging FIU alumni and friends to deck out their offices in Panther Spirit this week! Post photos on Instagram by Friday, October 4, and tag #FIUalumni to enter the contest! The top offices, decided by FIU Alumni Association staff, will be visited by our executive director, Duane Wiles, for some awesome photo ops!

    Please note: While we would love every alum to participate in our office spirit contest, FIU alumni who are employed by FIU should only enter their offices in the spirit decorating competition hosted by FIU Human Resources. But please still feel free to tag #FIUalumni to share your spirit with the whole community!

  • Guided Campus Tours
    FIU alumni are invited to take a guided tour around campus the day of the Homecoming game. Explore all that is new around MMC, and see how your alma mater has grown in size and impact since you graduated! Registration is required.
