Tani Kiah graduated from FIU's former School of Journalism & Mass Communication and The Honors College in August 2015 with a bachelor's in print journalism. As a student at FIU, she wrote for The Beacon, served as treasuer for the school's chapter for the Society of Professional Journalists and interned for FIU Magazine

Upon graduation, Kiah became the first intern hired full-time by FIU's Department of News and Communication, where she has written both long- and short-form stories for FIU News and FIU Magazine. In her three years as staff writer there, she covered a diverse range of content, from the Torch Awards Gala, to Hilary Clinton's visit to campus, to profiling an alumnus, who, though blind, has become one of NASA's most respected mechanical engineers. She also brings experience developing on-trend social media content to the table, having co-starred in the former "Panther News Live" broadcast on FIU's official Facebook account.

Kiah's speciality is creating interactive, web-based content that brings a story to life online, for which she and the FIU News team won the 2018 Award of Execellence for Writing for the Web for CASE District III (click the link).
